Many people rent them for a week in the summer. We were thinking about doing that last summer but we couldnt find one available. Another alternative is to sub rent from someone who has one for the summer but will be away for a week.

Are there any sites that you would recommend that would allow us to book cottages preferably in the Simcoe area?

I think renting a cottage for awhile could be a pretty cool thing. Honestly I never really thought about doing it though. I may consider it now that you have brought it to my attention. Thank you!

Fractional ownership seems to be a great way to enjoy your cottage life once in a while. As long as you agree on the schedule with the other owners, sound like a plan if you are strapped for cash.

Sorry I took the Muskokas as a granted. Most people know that the Muskokas are very nice and very expensive.

Wow that's a tough question. It is really more about what you want out of the cottage. In terms of nice lakes and cottages I would say Stoney Lake and Clear Lake, by Young's Point, ON are very nice. Crowe Lake by Marmora, ON is nice, Balsam Lake and Cameron Lake by Fenelon Falls, ON is also very nice. If you are looking for more of a beach area you would look to Grand Bend and Sauble on Lake Huron. North of there on Huron and Georgian Bay you have the Bruce Peninsula which is gorgeous.
