I tink this recipe is like this blog...smokin. I generally like my salmon without to many other strong flavors...maybe a teryaki, tops. But the BBQ marinade for this looks interesting so I will have to break down and try it. And beer?..ya, beer goes with everything.

Damn, the secrets out now!
I've been cooking salmon on the BBQ like this for about 3 years now. In fact it's the only way to cook salmon in my opinion. Your first taste of the "cedary" hinted salmon will have you hooked! As soon as I put the board on the BBQ to start it drying, I have neighbors poking their heads over the fence, and just 'dropping by' for a visit! Summer, BBQ, Cedar Plank Salmon, and Friends! A staple of summer!
If I could make one small suggestion though. Experience has taught me that if possible, soak the board in water longer than 30 minutes. 1 to 2 hours is preferable. This way you get a nice 'slow smoke'.
