I can't speak to inflatable kayaks... but I've been using an inflatable raft for fishing of late. I use a trolling motor - wouldn't want to exercise or anything. It's not the best watercraft on the planet but it is cheap and it does float. What more do you need.

MEC (Mountain Equipment Co-op) is still the place to go for anything and everything outdoors. Some other good ones that you will be able to get to while up north are Algonquin Outfitters in Huntsville and along Hwy-60 at Oxtongue lake.

P.S - There is a big party (BALAPALOOZA) coming up in Bala in August, you should definately write about it!
