The Hydrofoil Water Scooter
The Water Scooter allows you to glide across water simply by hopping gently up and down. The odd looking vehicle made of aluminum and fiberglass weighs only 26 lbs., making it easy to transport to the dock or shoreline. The large steps and handlebars provide stability and confidence on the water. The Water Scooter can move up to 17 mph providing an excellent cardio workout. At $500 US is seems a little gimmicky for me and I wonder how much I would really use it. I also wonder what happens when I fall over in the middle of the lake? It doesn’t look that easy to get back on from the water.
An interesting and innovative product, but I don’t think I’ll be spending my money on this one.

But you’re right, if you fall off it looks like it’d be a pain to try to get back on, and I probably wouldn’t feel like hopping anymore after that lol. Still, a very different product!

I was wondering the same thing, what happens if you fall off? Looks like a lot of fun though! I guess stay close to the shore, or keep on bouncing!
We actually have one of these gizmo’s – acquired by my slightly kookie family. They are a wonder of technical design, but so far, only my 14 year old son was able to get it to work – after more tries than I could ever begin to count. He’s able to “hump” it down the lake to the next dock, turn around and head home. If you fall, it’s a long and awkward swim to drag it to a dock for restart. We added a pool noodle to the rear cross bar for added floatation. It also leaks – and fills slowly with water causing it to tilt to one side – and then virtually unuseable – so you either have to pull it apart to drain it, or leave overnight to drain itself. Honestly, we could have put the cost of that thing to much better use around the cottage! On the other hand, if you like to get wet, tired and frustrated – then this is definitely something you may be interested in!!
